Redwell Camp May30th - June 1st 2008 Redwell Fisheries is one of our favourite places for a
weekend in the caravan, with both Andy and Mo being keen anglers. Although it is
primarily a fishery it has a caravan site and a camping field so we asked if we
could have a club camp there. Ken [the owner] said we were welcome providing we left
the site clean as he has no facilities for rubbish disposal. We travelled up on Friday evening [ it`s only an hours
drive ] to find Carol, Garry and family, Dave Bates and family, Mark and Yvonne
and Andy and Steph already tucking into BBQs in brilliant sunshine. Andy &
Mo then went fishing while the rest of us settled in round the barbie to chat
and have a drink . Saturday was again glorious with bright sunshine, but I had to go
to work, so I left people planning to go sightseeing or fishing or just chilling
out. I got back on the evening to another BBQ and then we lit the fire that Ken
had said not only could we have but we would be doing him a favour as he had a
load of wood to get rid of !!!!!!! good or what ??. Unfortunately on Sunday we reverted to the typical Sunday
weather that we have been enjoying lately and it rained, so we all packed up after breakfast and came home
but, we all enjoyed the w/end. We have asked if we can go for Aug bank holiday
and were told we can have the bottom half of the field so we will see how it
