[Home]. St Valentines Ball & Presentation Night 13th February 2010 As our members enjoy the party nights (so, by popular demand, and on the last minute) we decided to re-instate presentation night as a social evening. When we discovered it was Valentines weekend everyone joined in with suggestions and so the Valentines Ball idea was formed. With Big John on the Disco and having everyone's music choices ready, the ladies looking fabulous in their "Posh frocks" and the men very smart in" Bow ties", a really nice room with a dance floor, a hot pot supper ordered, some silly games organised, and we were ready to go. And what a good night it was . After the trophy presentation we gathered all the club members on the dance floor (wasn't going to let it stay empty) and started the night with our song version " You'll never ride alone" then everyone was invited to join us for the first Valentines waltz " A Million Love Songs" and "Angels". Safe to say the dance floor didn't stay empty after that and the night took on wings. Les brought his guitar and got everyone singing, Mark had a call out game on the go (bit of cheating by some members on that) John played the right songs at the right time and then the hot pot supper arrived and was really tasty. Into more silly dances and a balloon relay game (a LOT of cheating going on there, but still funny). The dance floor stayed full as peoples favorite songs were played and then suddenly it was gone midnight. For a hastily arranged "DO" we think it turned out brilliantly and everyone I've spoken to seemed to have enjoyed it. Thanks to all those who put in the time to help out, and to the club members for bringing the "party spirit". YOU DID RIGHT GOOD
