[Home]. Ridesafe Roadshow Blackpool 25th April 2020
We had heard about the Ridesafe - Backsafe show at Blackpool and thought it would give us an interesting first destination stop for our ride-out day. After a lovely week weather wise, Sunday was grey, overcast and with a threat of light showers, but it was warm. As we hit the motorway we did run into a misting of rain, but when we pulled off to go through Broughton lights and cross country to Blackpool, it had dried up and the sun was trying to come out. We pulled up onto the Central car parks and had a wander around the various stalls (not really that many there) but we did enjoy the stunt show and by this time it was getting really warm so we decided to carry on to Devils bridge for a drink and food. On route we stopped off at Redwell to check out the campsite and visit Ken (actually Mo and Andy just can’t resist stopping to check out the fishery). The peace and quiet of the caravan site was disturbed as the bikes rode down the middle of it to park near the house, only to find that Ken had gone out for the day. Luckily for us (but unlucky for him) Arthur was trying to do some fishing on the pools and was press-ganged into putting the kettle on and making us all a drink (thanks Arthur, and his friend Ann who provided the milk) Next stop was Devils bridge and a snack before the enjoyable ride home on the A65 and through Gisburn. before joining the motorway at Preston. Although it was cloudy, it was a really warm day and we managed to dodge any showers that were around, and the day passed quickly as it was 6-00pm when we arrived home, doesn’t time fly when you’re out riding.??
PS On getting home, we watched the WSB races that we had recorded whilst we had been out, and wasn’t it some of the best racing and (for us) best results you could hope for. See you at next meeting
